LineeImmagini is a design course that stems from the ten-year teaching experience of the author. It is a work that matches the tradition of geometric design carried out with manual instruments with the new technologies for assisted design [CAD, Computer Aided Design] in an ideal educational itinerary which starts by providing the basics of the subject, and then strengthens and furthers them.
The integration between traditional instruments and some of the AutoCAD® auto software ones is very effective, and guarantees, besides the acquisition of a wider range of skills, a higher degree of motivation. Such a question is strengthened by the exercises that come at the end of each of the modules [exercises that require both the use of manual instruments and the use of the AutoCAD] and the CD-ROM enclosed with the book. The CD-ROM contains several exercises linked, as far as the content is concerned, to the topics dealt with in the manual, and needed to master the main AutoCAD commands.
There is also an in-depth examination of visual education and of the language of images.
LineeImmagini is a project that offers in a very effective way a particularly good insight, according to which descriptive geometry and graphic representation in general can provide a reading key to the surrounding reality, from the shapes present in nature to human realizations in the artistic and architectural field, from design objects, to artifacts at large.
LineeImmagini is a manual based on practicality and on constant practical application in the most various contexts: artistic, architectural, industrial design, in the building trade ... In such a way, the learning of the discipline becomes linked to definite realizations, and more productive results.
LineeImmagini has a strong training and orienting valence. Since the discipline constitutes the basis for the attainment other skills, this work provides, at the end of the volumes, a series of Tests for the faculty of Architecture. A useful tool to become familiar with the mechanisms of University selection, but at the same time, a confirmation of the fact that the tools provided by the manual can develop the necessary skills for success in higher learning.
